algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi David,

I am using Galapagos for quite a heavy task and although it works well, it takes a long time to stop and requires to press "stop solver" multiple times as it freezes or ignores the click.  Do you think it would be possible to have the Esc button stop the whole process a bit faster ?

Many thanks,

Arthur

Evolution is an unstoppable force man.

I'll look into it.

Evolution shall be stopped when my directors come around to check my progress :)

I should have never told them what galapagos does as they now tell people I am having "digital sex"...

You mean you weren't before?   Welcome to the club I suppose.

Well lets say it was never "evolutionary" before.

A way used often by other researchers who code their own evolutionary program is to have a "auto last generation save" & "continue iteration from last save" functions, with which you can just assign the iteration a very small number to have a general estimation on speed in first round and do the iteration step by step. Then you can control your time!

Yeah I need to code up a file format so you can store the entire process and reload it later, continue from a different starting point etc.

There's a lot of work left on Galapagos yet...
