algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I have created an image sampled surface that has come out as i want it.
the next step was to map my voronoi pattern onto the surface.
I extracted the intersection points and projected them onto the surface
(dont want to project voronoi edges as then they mould onto it and arent straight from point to point.
what it the best way to connect these points with a straight line? and why do i end up with 260 different points when there are clearly only about 60 or so?

It is not easy to answer without script, there are many solutions.
You could use Point Deform, if you want to keep the closed polylines geometry.
You could explode voronoi, remove duplicate line, use begin and end point to project them on surface and make another line with the projected points ...
ive run into different issues all together..
so to start from scratch this is what i need to do in sequence:
-Create 54 points within a boundary (will be voronoi centres)
-Use an image sampled surface where the lowest areas of the surface attract strongest (attraction tolerance will be key im assuming)
-Create voronoi diagram
-Extract line intersections of voronoi diagram
-connect them with line (between 2pt)
-project points onto surface (resulting in straight lines between projected points rather than lines moulded onto surface)

Dear Hyung
It is now the second time that youve saved my butt and i cant express how much i appreciate it!
The only thing I now need to figure out is:
How to I plot the lowest points of the surface and use those as attractors for the original voronoi centre points.
I understand point attraction..but i need to find the CP from the surface down to the base plane and use those points right?
I made a few points with sliders on the most prominent dips which works perfectly thanks.
I have been trying to get the attraction to work but once again im in over my head. If you connect the Z-Axis component youll see them move into the negative domain vertically by a factor but im struggling to change the Z vector to a vector between the point cloud and Attractor..
any suggestions?
I don't understand what you want but check attached, Best.
sorry my terminology may have been wrong.
But that is perfect! Thank you so much for all your time and patience!
:-)
