algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Modelling interlinked parts

Hi All,

 

I am trying to model an adjustable roof system made up from one foldable an extendable component.

 

I would like to add real life parameters to the component so I can model how each component would articulate and thus how the whole system would behave in real life

 

I  would like to do something similar to the image shown below.

 

I am new to grasshopper so any help would be much appreciated.

 

I hope you understand what I am talking about!

It would be helpful to see a little bit more detail regarding the linkage.

Those shapes look like they might be circles when folded flat on the plane.  Is that correct?

yes thats exactly what they are, 2 flat folded circles mirrored on top of each other

This looks to me like it will involve recursion so I believe it would require a scripted component.
