algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all,
okay I am still quite new to Grasshopper and I have been using Kangaroo recently but what my main problem has been is generating a regular pattern on a mesh to kangaroo properly. I have multiple surfaces that I'm welding together. Unfortunately these surfaces aren't regular which it makes is tricky.
I understand that my process of joining these surfaces together using split and join might be where its hurting my process of trying to get a regular mesh but I'm struggling to come up with an answer how to make my surface in which I can then start to form using kangaroo.
I have tried lunchbox (didnt work because it was circular) and weaverbird and mesh + struggled because the original surface wasn't clean.
I would be looking for something similar to this http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/need-help-for-an-opening-....
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks,
J

btw I have tried mesh machine but i was looking for something more regular
a good reference would be something like fosters mexico airport, where the structural columns are formed into the roof structure
ahh this is super cool, thanks alot. I was looking for the middle circle to be higher but ill try crack it with moving anchor points and gravity.
Thanks for your help!
i didn't realise you could use anchor points that weren't exactly connected to the mesh like you've done. Thanks
Hi Hyungsoo,
I have had a go at moving the middle circle higher, in the same way you moved the outer circle during the simulation. But it doesn't seem to work, just seems to blow up, I have tried editing the force to its lower but didn't have any joy with that either. not sure exactly why its failing.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks,
J
