Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Grasshopper Community

I'm still relatively new in grasshopper and have no idea where to start with this problem.

I want to define 4 predefined Geometries in Rhino. I then want them to be mixed up at random on a surface. Like panel ling but with multiple geometries.

In my attached file the is my idea sketch on what I think.

So to sum up:

Lets take 4 geometries.

1 Extruded Hexagon

1 Extruded Triangle

1 box

1 cylinder

Get the to panel(?) over a surface and mix up.

I expect that I maybe should use bounding box, but other than that I am lost.

Hope you can help a newcomer :)

It is relatively easy to array or randomly populate objects onto a surface, the hard part is fitting them with each other. Are they allowed to intersect? Do you want the spaces in between them to be as small as possible?

Hello,

Here's how I would start with geometries randomly distributed on a surface.

But as David points out, it does not take into account spacing, or intersections...

I hope it helps! Good luck.
