Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am wondering that how is it possible to project any pattern or set of curves to a volume without breaking the pattern when passing to the next façade even to the top. I want to wrap an irregular shaped volume with a pattern and extrude it.

i have some example renderings which have the same logic but i dunno how to achieve it. any plug-in or method in rhino or grasshopperis appreciated.

As you can see the pattern continues on the other façade and wraps the structure inside.

thanks for for ideas!

Hey,

I did a quiet simalar project. It worked quiet good with boolean functions. Project makes problems, especially at the edges. The examples you posted have all a relatively simple bounding geometry, mostly box like. The interiour needs a airspace for the floors which is a box as well. So depending on how complex the pattern is, I would suggest you boolean.

Best Regards

your solution is nice and seems effective, but even if the examples have box like shapes, it is about that I could only find these =) you're right about the airspace. is it possible for you to post the 3dm and the gh definition of your project to work on it?
of course, but its just a fast sketch to explain my thoughts to you.

than you so much.I thought that you were talking about a pattern brep boolean operation but it is sensible to create the volume that will be extracted. it is very easy and effective solution, i was expecting to find an autamated script that will wrap the geometry so that i was not able to change my paradigm to see the other solutions :) thank you again =) i also suggest you to watch the video that Homer sent, with your help and homer's, i think that i might be create  the shape that i wanted =)

Hi,

This might be usefull.....

excellent video, perfect help! thank you so much, but there is one think that i am curious about, do you know chinese or you found that video accidentally? i was thinking that i should find every solution in my mind if only i know chinese or japanese, and you sent this video :)

thank you again, i am so happy now that i have sufficient knowledge about how i am able to solve the thing in my mind :)

I dondnt speak chinese.....But now a days we have google translate ;)

So no need to speak it.

btw any further help about different types of solutions will be appreciated too, i think that there will be another people searching for a similar solution and they may need your ideas ;)  i wish a happy new year to everyone too..
