Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody,

I want to remove one branch from my data tree, so that I can connect remaining curves from my Ruled objects and fill the gaps.

I think my approach is not a good one. Can anybody suggest a better approach?

Thank you,

Hi.

This is one way.

Thank you very much. You're awesome.

Other than Kim's good (as usual) solution I would strongly suggest to get the gist of (a) split tree and (b) relative items for that type of stuff.

Used random values for moving the pts ... just for fun

Yes, I had problem with using the Split Tree and Relative Items objects.

Thank you Peter

David explains the syntax rules:

David commends as well:

It is at present not possible to use the parenthesis to define rule precedence, rules are always evaluated from left to right. It is at present also not possible to use negative integers to identify items from the end of a list.

Not sure if something changed on that matter since (personally I use code, so I never tested that for the current GH build).

Hi Arash - guys,
I tried to make a very consize definition (using data tree selection rules) so it would be easiest to follow.

Hi Peter,

This is exactly what I was looking for.  Using masks to Split  a Data Tree.

Thank you

Hey Guys,

This is a useful link on Data Trees by David Rutten for those who are not familiar with Data Tree rules, like me.

Thank David
