Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello!

I just installed BullAnt, and ive been checking different examples but i havent found how to create a net

of the geodesic sphere.

Ive been trying different method to trim the sphere, but i never succeeeded.

I wish i could trim the sphere with the base surface.

I also tried to select a domain of breps, but i couldnt implement it on the split tree. I used replace/concatenate functions to obtain the result. Is there a simpler method?

Thank you very much for your help.

I havent found the way to do it in grasshopper. i used a simple trim command on rhino and it worked...

and used unrollsrf to get the net.

If anyone has a clue to make it in grasshopper, i'd love to know.

After a few days loosing my hair with, here is the answer to the problem.

As the faces are not exactly planar, they cannot be joined as one.

So you have to set the TOLERANCE of your document (Rhino Options) to a higher value (lower tolerance) so it accept to join the surfaces together. (i've set mine to 0.005 units)

Then you can do the basic trim, and unfold functions without problem.
