Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

For a school project I am designing an elliptycal plan based tower. I want to make the tower with 7 floors, each floor has an ellyptical shape. The only difficulty in this is that I want to be able to scale the ellipses. From an elevation I want to achieve an egg shaped tower. I made an ellips and i was able to get it moving in the Z direction. But I couldn't get my floors in it with  scaled ellipses to get the egg shape. I added an image to make it more clear, I hoop.

Can anyone help me with that?

(P.S. I'am new to Grasshopper, any help and advise would be appreciated.)

Thanks a lot, I 'am going to try it right away.

Hallo Kim,

I have replicated your advise with a little  bit a twist. I want to be able to move the "tower" in the x and y direction. So I used a vector XYZ, i connected the output to the base plane of the ellipse. Now I can move it perfectly. But here is the problem.... when I move it to far, the top ellipse moves back to the reference point from the "number to point" component like shown in the image.

How can I solve this?

Can u or anyone else helpe me with this?

regards,

Rasa

Check this.

You can move the basis points from 'Pt2Num' (sliders range from -100 to 100):

Or if you prefer 'Vector XYZ':

Or just move the results:

Thank you guy's. That helps a lot.
