algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello

I have made a von mises tress analyse with solidworks, (sea attache  picture)

on my simple structure (see rhino file)

i like to do do the same with karamba

I think i have to convert my solid to mesh, do i have to use mesh bred module , or mesh machine or ...?

I have used the side panel as the support, how to do this why karamba ?

i do have diferent three diferent mateial ( plate, stifferner 1 and stifferner 2)

how to manage this ?

thank in advance

Hello Zadeira,

the geometry you need as input for the Karamba model is the center plane of the plate and lines which specify the position of the stiffeners.

In order to attach the stiffeners to the plate, divide the lines of the stiffeners into small pieces. Then use the 'Mesh Breps'-component of Karamba and make sure to feed the endpoints of these pieces into the 'IPts' input-plug so that they are part of the mesh.

The eccentricity of the stiffeners can be specified with the 'Eccentricity on Cross Section (karamba)'-component.

In oder to define the side panel as the support, select all nodes of the structure there and specify point supports. That has the same effect as defining a line support.

Use identifiers for the plate and the two groups of stiffeners in order to attach different materials to them (see manual).

Best,

Clemens

My verticall and horhyzontal stiffener are diferent (profile, size and matreial)

how to diference them ?

I just wanted to set multiple curve (vertival) bloc and another horyzontal bloc

i like to use suface and the line made in rhrino

see my grashopper file

You can differentiate the stiffeners by giving different identifiers to the vertical and horizontal elements. The definition of cross sections and materials includes the identifiers of the elements to which they apply.

Best,

Clemens

ok , thank you for your replly , i tinnk i am undersatnding the prossesus
