Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello every one

Is there any way to create a sort of  ImageSampler Component  that actually read a gif file image sequence in grasshopper? or do you now any other way  to map a gif file on a animated geometry?

thank

The System.Drawing and System.Drawing.Imaging namespaces that Grasshopper uses to do all things graphical do not support animated gifs. Additional libraries will be needed to extract all frames from a gif or other video file.

Out of curiosity, do you expect all frames to be loaded at once, after which you can select the one you're interested in, or are you actually expecting Grasshopper to start animating the solution based on video input?

Hi David

I really like to see a component for mapping  video/gif as a texture which seems it is not possible.

currently i animate my geometry in rhino/grasshopper(faster and easier) and export them to Maya for applying movie as texture and rendering. in case there is a   change in geometry i have to go through the same painful process of mapping.
