Divide a surface by a specific length

Hi,

I am trying to find an efficient way to divide a surface by a specific length like you can divide a curve by distance. I measured the the edges of the surface to generate new varied domain values and want to use them with isotrim. I am receiving an error message subsurface is invalid because the trimming U domain is singular. What am i doing wrong?
