algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Arranging objects?

Hi,

i need to arrange a couple houndred closed polylines on a sheet of paper - without plugins - because it needs to run in the computer pool here at school.

These lines will change dynamically - so how can i achieve this? The lines are unfolded (kind of) pyramides.

Any Help or a way where i could start looking for answers would be superbe!!

I Attached what i have done so far, but this is just not optimal at all!!

Ok, here is how far i got (screenshot).

Not quite optimum ;) 

Any Idea how i can get better results without using thirdparty plugins? Any code snipped?
