Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello!

I just started learning grasshopper last week...Happy to be part of this community!

After splitting an arc in to a number of segments (4 for now, but hopefully more), I would like to create new arcs in between the end points of the newly created segments.

I ultimately want to be able to control the bend of those arcs by moving the points that define them along the initial arc.

Please find attached a sketch explaining my intentions, a screenshot of my failed attempt, and the GH file.

Hope that provides you with enough/succinct information.

Thank you very much for your help!

Connect the 't' (lowercase) output of 'Divide' to the 't' input of 'Shatter'.

And you'll want to disable preview for some components, to avoid confusion.

Thank you very much!

Hi Mihai,

There's more than one way to do this, have a look at the sequence above, also a .gh file attached, hope it helps!

Hi Andrei!

Deconstruct Arc! I'll remember that next time.

I started extracting the control points of the shattered arcs and was trying to build the vectors using those, but I much prefer your option. Now I'll try to gain more control over the points that define the secondary arcs in order to slide them along the initial arc, and thus change the secondary arcs' dimensions.

Thank you very much for your time!

Hello again!

I've managed to achieve what I've set out to do in my sketch - Arcs on arc with control over the points that define them.

I'll post the result (probably there is a simpler way to do this) just in case someone has also tried this.

- the first slider controls the entire movement

Thank you for your help!
