algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Hello,

So I decided to undertake creating a 3d woven pattern on a Hypar surface . . . however some of my normals are coinciding instead of spacing themselves apart (picture1). Some of the normals are behaving properly while others are not.

Does anyone know why this is happening, or how to correct it????

I am also trying to offset the points so that they form an Interpolate curve that has a flatness that I can control. I assume that I could translate the points along the curve, but then the issue of the surface normals reappears (see below image)

Hi.

I think this method is more reliable.

Awesome interpretation Hyungsoo, and the use of the NURBS instead of Interpolate was a great add on. This has set me on the right path thank you!!!!!

Hyungsoo,

So I made some adjustments to the geometry and the curves, and now there are issues with the WEFT pattern. I get one side to work perfectly, but can't get the inverse . . . could you take a look and tell me what you think could be the problem????

Thank you,

I can't fully understand what are you going to achieve, but all you need to do is matching data.

Okay so I sorted out the data matching to get the appropriate weaving of the lines! There were some issues that still needed sorting out . . . The first .jpg is what I want to create. And I cannot figure out how to create the strips (like in the .jpg)

I am trying to control the width of the strips and the thickness, but first forming the strips is a challenge hahaha
