algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello, I've tried following the video you've mentioned, and generated a file here, please take a look. I'm having serious trouble trying to simulate a coil spring that follows the same component setup.
Where do I go from here?
I suppose I would like to find a manual that covers this sorta thing. That would be awesome.
It doesn't seem to contain the rhino objects. Attached is the rhino file.
I'm having a ridiculously difficult time interpreting grasshoppers/kangaroos GUI. The components are confusing, and the help files are deficient.
This process should be way more straight forward. Please see attached. All I'm trying to do, is create spring emulation. Why is this so hard, and why aren't there any tutorials that explicate this process concisely?
Yes it's true, the kangaroo is free and it is a work in progress. First try to understand it with simple lines and points, there is no direct correspondence with physical entities.
We need to split the elements to apply forces, then rebuild it.
Some plugins have direct reference to physical elements however they are closer for programming.
Indeed, true.
I have been trying to understand it, with simple lines and points. And haven't made any real progress.
What do you mean "split the elements to apply forces, then rebuild it."???
I have no idea what you're saying about plugins with direct reference....closer for programming.
Erik
I am an architect and not a mathematician and not physicist, but I love the Kangarooo ... you can program and follow the application evolution. Try the Karamba and Rhino Vault to understand the membranes and the balance of forces ... you think more depth tutorials and helped you understand the forces. you find these plugins in www.rhino4food.com and tutorials and examples also in the installation and see videos tutorials in youtube!
good luck
