algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey all,
I am looking to achieve a similar effect to the PeachyPrinter Kickstarter:

Is it possible to have a script in rhino or within grasshopper send audio to the computer's audio output? I don't even know where to begin in terms of simply sending a test signal to the audio out.
Does anybody have any ideas on how this might be achieved?
Thanks

Hi Harrison,
it is possible, though it may be quite tricky. If all you're looking to do is output a specific frequency for a specific number of milliseconds, then it's easy (see attached). However if you want a more complex waveform you'll probably need to reference DirectX (DirectSound specifically) libraries.

Hi David,
I'm trying to Reference the DirectX for Managed Code Assemblies but the component say that the file doesn't exist. Maybe I should paste the dll files in a specific folder before?
thanks in advance.

Opps ! 3 years later!!
First, you need an audio editor like Adobe Audition, etc... to get the sound in Spectrum display. Then, is better in monoural. Try... Img print key in the keyboard! After this, paste and edit in Photoshop or similar, the image.Take care! Only the sound!
Just, open rhino, and in surfaces, _Heightfield the bitmap. Offset a little th surface, solid option yes, and... then, export to stl.
