Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to recreate the Kakamigahara crematorium parametric roof... and I need your help!

So far the problems are two - poor info online (plans, sections, roof) and no idea how can I construct the roof itself via Rhino/GH.

I am attaching some photos + some sort of roof topography plan. How is this plan created?

I already got an answer from peter fotiadis, for which I thank him big time, but was rather a more complicated solution than I imagine.

How can I make this roof?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Er...hmm ... you think that my solution is complex? If so (due to a recent request from another fellow user) wait for the real thing that includes the ultimate way to create patched breps regardless if Rhino fails to deliver a trimmed surface (AND that ... er ... IS complicated).

Forget the columns for now, I need just to roof.

Patch the outer Loop against the "start" of the column(s) [i.e. the top of the mushroom(s), so to speak]:

BTW: against all odds doing the Patch with GH is far more challenging (i.e. yielding a successfully trimmed brep) than allowing Kangaroo to do the "relaxation".

The surface of this roof is a bit more complex than what you might think. It is an outcome of some more distinguished optimization process.

In this book you'll find some more clues (and even some equations)
