Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone,

I'm a beginner at grasshopper, and I'm having a little trouble with lofting.

I'm trying to make a dome that has adjustable points around the circumference, so I'm attempting to keep separate arcs which can be changed by moving the end points up and down. The only way I could think of doing the arcs themselves easily was to make them between opposite points on the circle. However, when I lofted them it left a gap in the dome for some reason. The ruffle that I'm trying to create at the perimeter is working perfectly, but the dome is broken. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to set it up properly?

sliders controlling point height, arcs created across the circle, and loft (the circumference points were brought in from rhino.)

thanks in advance everyone!

This was very helpful, thank you! I ended up using the gene pool rather than the graph to control the edge, but it behaves exactly the way I hoped. I still don't really understand a lot of what's going on in this script, but I'll mess around with it and figure it out I'm sure. Thanks again!
