I get the correct value of zero (outside) when I open the file over here.

Could it be that your Rhino model tolerance settings are bigger than the distance from point 1037 to the curve?

Point 585 however does give a value of 1 for me.

In fact yes I can confirm that the component returns 1 if the point is within absolute tolerance.

Yep, this seems to be it, thanks! I actually thought of this before asking here, the thing is it seems to take a while for GH to acknowledge the tolerance change, that's why i missed it. It seems advisable to hit Recompute after tolerance change and it will update, otherwise you won't see the change for quite some time (like i did).


PS; uuuh, .0077 coming up...!
maybe you can make this possibly easy implementation: providing one of those hook icons to substitute the expression "-x"
