Trim curves

A fairly simple question (I think): I'm trying to determine how to best cut out some curves using (an intersection tool). The image below, red highlights indicate where I want to trim - the goal is to create a closed curve with no intersecting lines. I'm attaching the definition - any help is appreciated, thank you!

Maybe there is another simple way of doing this,(using plug-in like "Clipper", I'm not sure,) this is one way.
