algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all, I'm pretty new to grasshopper and kangaroo and the weaverbird plug in but I'm having lots of fun with it :) I've been trying to model up something like the shellstar pavilion but I've hit a few sticking points - Using weaverbird and kangaroo I've made a mesh form and I'm trying to relax the model so that it hangs but it's not working so I just get a flat surface and I can't figure out why???
Also I wanted to use a hexagonal mesh rather than the one weaver bird produced but I couldn't figure out how to apply it - (hence weaverbird which it totally new to me). I was thinking I could apply a hexagonal grid in rhino after it's baked but I'd be keen to work it into GH if possible.
Any help you can offer would be great
Thanks

I've been working on this for a few weeks now and have been trying to make the resulting forms more rounded, I found that the metaball mesh has too many curves around the boundary and this distorts the overall form making it flat on top and having big flaps on all the sides. It's also causing the tops of the structures to point in against the catenary form for some reason.
Any ideas how I can effectively tell it not to mesh outside the boundary? and how to stop it kinking at the top of the arch?
