Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys,

I'm pretty annoyed that I can't get this to work since I don't think it should be too terribly difficult. As shown in the attached picture, I have two nurbs surfaces and am trying to build another nurbs surface that is built from control points extracted from the other two (3 three rows of control points shown in the picture are the ones I would like to use).

When I try to use the "Surface from Points" component, however, I cannot get the surface to generate properly. From my understanding of previous discussions on this forum, the U parameter should be U+1 which in my case would be 11. No parameter from 0-11 is producing the results I'm looking for, however.

My attempted solution is attached. I get the feeling the solution will be quite straightforward...

Thanks,

Austin

Hi Austin,

When using the surface from points, make sure you are ordering your list the same way "divide surface" generates them, and pull it in as a flattened list. U in "divide surface" is segments (U+1), where U in from points is just the # of points in the U dimension, so either 3 or 10 depending on your list order.

You"ll have to reorganize point data and then use surface fr points.

That seems to have done it. Thanks Hyungsoo!
