How can I join the curves into one thing

Hi, everyone. I use the Join Curve command to join some curves. And I am wondering how can I make it to be one data. I mean in the tree structure, some of the numbers of N are 2, can I make it become 1? Then I can flatten them and use list item to select the things I want. Thank you~

better upload your file. If join is not working it probably means that 2 curves don't meet.
