algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'd like to create a parametric rectangular ramp where the ramp gradually moves up like a cake(or like the Empire State Building). So, the bottom will be wider than the top.

I have been trying to use the definitions of a spiral ramp that I found here, but having a hard time because of my lack of knowledge of grasshopper. I only know very basic stuff. I managed to create a multiple floor using divide? division? But I got lost trying to combine it with the spiral ramp definitions.

Attached is the sketch. Basically it's just a basic rectangle ramp, but I want it to be parametric that the ramp gradually gets smaller in size as it gets higher.

A friend tried to help, but we couldn't get the cull pattern right. We know that it would be easy to loft the surface once the pattern is right.

I gave it a try.

It came out too complicated (I bet there is a much faster way to do this) but it works:

You can control the overall size of the ramp, start and end width, elevation between steps and total number of turns.

I have a question though, why does the definition only works with square? I thought that if I add another number slider, I can play with the rectangle. Is it hard if I want the shape to also be parametric?
