algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello guys,
I have a big problem!
I wanna construct something like a 3dimensional spiderweb, but after searchin and trying a lot of thing still cant get the solution!
I need a surface, height 0 (60x60 , every side divided to 12 parts, marked with points)
From those random points I need vertical lines with random height.
The top of theses Line should be conected with a jointed mid Point and the opposite top of the Line.
I`m grateful for every comment and every lead you could give me with that, because I`m already a kind of desperated..

is the attachment what you want to have or what you have already? Because you already got the hardest part: the definition of what you want to have. Now it's just finding the right functions for your need but if the attached pictures show what you have what else do you need?
Unfortunaly that is what I construted in Rhino.I also wanna do it in Grasshopper, but i really don`t know the right functions!
I tried to do that, but i just reached the following attachment...
The vertical lines are starting in the surface, jointed with another surface, so I dont know the function to get vertical lines in the edge of my divided points, with random height...
Either dont know the function to join the summit of the vertical lines, with the opposite, to get a realistic base of spiderweb...
Hope you could help me with that!
now I'm a bit confused. I don't see the connection between what you posted first and now. To your first post: You said that you need one surface ... and then EVERY side should be devided in 12 parts. Can you define a bit clearer what you mean? Also I can't see anything with 12 in your screen shots.

Maybe at first have to go one step back to consider the different paameters to get an easier way of grasshopper construction and furthermore a more realistic spiderweb architecture!

I considered my spiderweb and did a new, more realistic one!Propably this is much easier to construct with Grasshopper! But unfortunately
I`m still a Beginner of Grasshopperand after a lots of tutorials still can´t find the rind functions for my spiderweb!
A made a short Explication in Rhino..
At first ein need a curve towards Nord (modified by the angle y = Gamma)
After that i need the Parameter (Number of radii)
The angle between the radii is (360° / Number of radii = @)
Additionally the angle @ + e,f,g,h ( a number of deviation)
I really dont wanna waste your time, but i would be so grateful if you can help me with this functions?!
I know exactly what I want, but unfortunaly I dont know and can´t find the right functions to construct this in Grasshopper!
Afther all of the radii would need a spiral
1.Hub Spiral (0,25)
2.Strenthin Zone Spiral (0,5)
3.Sticky Silk Spiral (1)
The Hub spiral is the most compact one! This Spiral should beginn in the hub and End in the outside

when you're working with grasshopper I guess your target is to understand grasshopper and be able to solve problems. This target in mind it won't help you if I gave you a prepared file for this spider web example (also I don't have the time to try to understand what you want to do in all these steps).
But since you have these nicely defined steps you should start at the beginning and try to find out how to get what you want. use this forum and google to find your way.
Don't google for what you want to have in the end (spider web) but for the steps you want to do and you will find lots of explanations. sometimes it already helps to use the text search in the grasshopper primer.
For example: In your first step you want to divide a circle in 7 parts. Searching for "divide" you will find the "divide curve" function in grasshopper where you can set the number of segments as a parameter. After this step you have the the points for a regular devided circle.
If you want to have a virety in the angle you can just draw a line and rotate it around one point by the whole rotation angle devided by your number of segments + a random value between -5 and +5 or whatever.
