Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am sweep  a circle and a polyline. However, sweep1 make two surfaces instead of one surface in grasshopper. While I make the sweep1 in rhino, It works fine. It might related to the setting of the  sweep1 component. I only try to change the mite, however, it not work. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it work?

Maybe use the Pipe instead? There will be a microscopic difference after moving the rails to the centers of the circles, at least with the current file...

hi tibbar,

do you know why it happen. I could't understand it, the same rail and section, in rhino, it generates one surface.

Hi tibbar, I try to use pipe, however, the result is two separate surfaces instead of one. why it like that?

Hi,
I tried pipe with your rails and it worked like one surface for each rail. Do you have the latest grasshopper?

Btw, It seems to me that, when I use a polyline as a rail for sweep, it creates a surface for each part of the pline. That's what I got from my trial and I thought your rails are polylines. I thought it is the nature of the sweep component, but check out Jolene's message below...

There might be something wrong with how you build your rails that is causing the problem. The sweep works fine in the file i uploaded.

Hi jolene and tibbar.

the sweep  works well when the rail is a single straight line. While in my case, it is a polyline with a slight angle, then the sweep did't work well. I solved it through change the mite of the sweep1 component to rotate.

Thanks all for the help.
