algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

I have raised a cylinder above a surface and now I want to depress the cylinder top  surface less than a spherical amount  Any help for a beginner?

Also when I raised the cylinder it came from the bottom of the solid through the construction.  How can I raise (or lower) the top, or chosen, surface of the solid?

Thanks for the help,

that tim guy

Do you mean that you want to create a uniformly concave surface instead of the circle end of the cylinder?

yep thats it, raise the cylinder but depress the middle.  Ideally depress it along a vector off set from the vector of the shaft of the cylinder.

The other thing was to raise it from the top of the surface rather than extruding through the solid.

Thanks.

I'm not sure how to raise the top surface rather than extruding through the solid.....

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

Heres a small representation of the problem.

Sorry, man. Not helpful... can you at least internalize the data in the Curve component?

Works with any plane curve. I hope u serve.

(When you ask for help in the forum, you must facilitate assistance with sample files or images, is annoying to have to ask to specify the doubt)

Dani, I took your definition and simplified it. I may have taken out some functionality, but it might help clarify the logic, then thattimguy could expand it to what you have.
