Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Well friends,

whilst I'm "enjoying" the black art to find where is what (I would strongly suggest to get some ideas from Quest3D as regards accessing the whole SDK) ... can you drop some advise on this? (I can't figure out where to find something that works like the classic Rhino solid extrude surface straight).

best, Peter

I don't think it exists. You'll have to collect the boundary curves, extrude those (probably move them halfway back if you want to mimic bothsides=true extrusion, then duplicate and move the base surface and join everything together. At least that's what I do in the GH extrusion logic, it could be that since then the functionality has been added. If it has been added, it can be found by searching for "extrude" in the RhinoCommon help file ( http://4.rhino3d.com/5/rhinocommon/ ), but it seems it isn't there yet.

Thanks David

Indeed at present time I do the move halfway thing.

Anyway adding a "both sides" option in related GH components (in some future GH build) could be a good thing.
