Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to using sweep1 to make a surface. As show in the image, the top geometry is done through rhino, while the bottom surface is through grasshopper which is not the correct surface. Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Any help is appreciated.

You should add perpendicular frame.

Hi Summet,

thanks for your help. This method works when there is polyline. However, when I use curve as  the section, it does not work. Can you help me understanding why it happen?

In any CAD software, sweep works with closed polygon.

In your work end point are open.

Close it > make it single polygon > Sweep

Greetings!!

Hi Sumeet,

My polygon (the file uploaded above)is actually closed, but it still could not be able to sweep.

Hello

actually sweep works with open curves (see attached image or try sweeps with open section curves)

the problem in your situation with sweep is that it cannot automatically align the section curve. one workaround could be the following

i will check the polyline  curve thing you noticed later to see if i can find something.

cheers

yes for some reason sweep behaves good with polylines, but when it comes to curves cannot orient the curves correctly. don't really know why. i believe that is something that David should see.
