Generator plug-in basic advice

I'm experimenting with using the generator plug in, yet it doesn't seem to have much advice/tutorials online. Although it does seem quite simple to use and run...

I'm struggling to understand what the input values are asking for, there are 10 inputs for 'activate gene' and 'finalise gene.' I could hazard guesses all day at what these want!

If anybody has an idea of how to plug these controls into grasshopper, I'd be really grateful of some tips here!

This plug in seems really exciting once it's running, but doesn't seem popular at all?
