Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I guess is a recurrent problem, it's not new.
I wonder if a tangent line could be trace from a point exterior to a curve.
I know it's quite succesful using galapagos, i'm trying through another aproaches,
However I'm looking for a recurrent solution using several exterior points.
I need to get the tangent line from several exterior points to a same warped curve.

Any contribution is welcome

Thank in advance

Sorry, I´m talking about a plane curve,

the issue is how It´s possible to get systematically the tangents from several points ( A,B,C...) to a planar curve ( red one )?

It´s a pretty easy issue in Rhino,

Thanks

There are two possible solution groups,

It would be perfect to be able to separate the black and the blue ones,

Regards

What metric separates the black and blue lines? If D moved up slightly more, the black and blue lines would first merge, then disappear.

As far as I know the Rhino SDK has methods for finding these lines based on a mouse pick, but I'm not sure if there's a way to find all tangent or perpendicular lines.

Thanks David,

I don´t know if I´m exposing the question clearly!

could be obtained all the tangents from a set of points to a curve as easy as is done in Rhino.

The set of points is obtained from a Grasshopper process, tangents are necessary to continue with the process.

Any idea?
