algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys,
This seems to be a very simple problem that I cant seem to solve.
I tried to make a cone like object using sweep with two rails.
1. the component seems to not work. I tried using the older component of sweep2 and gave me better result. However, the surface still doesnt seem to follow the rail guides that i have set. see bottom image below.
2. this method seems to work on some curves and not the other. I have checked and played around with the direction of the curves and still found different inconsistent result. see middle image below
Once I have several surfaces that are connected to one another, I then subdivide these surfaces. The divisions wont lined up. see top image below. Why is this happening? Is there away for me to subdivide these surfaces and yet make the subdivisions lined up with one another?
Please check it out and help me out... Ive been scratching my head for nights...
Thanks!!

The problem you have is because of the rails being higher than the profiles
You can solve this problem by adding a profile (adding one between the first and last profile)
The problem for subdividing is because these surfaces have different U,Vs and the division will not line them up properly. The best method is to contour them with planes and then Surface split them with the contour curves
You're Welcome
Sweep2 is always tricky!
Try to add the profile near the first profile and not near the end.
The rails are getting higher than the profiles and that's why you have to tell the function what you want!
Cheers
