algorithmic modeling for Rhino
There's an updated version of Treesloth now available on Food4Rhino. There are a few enhancements in this incremental update.
Explode At Index is new, allowing you to explode a tree at a specified path index, grouping any deeper paths accordingly:…

Proving Ground has just released Conduit, an open-source Grasshopper plug-in for data visualization and creating heads up displays. There you'll find a "click-once" installer, which should load it up onto your machine.
For now, its features include a number of simple chart types (including…

Daniel Piker and I are excited to repackage an updated Exoskeleton with his new Plankton-based mesh wireframe thickening tool Cytoskeleton into a single GHA.
Although both components have been tested and improved upon from their original setups, this GHA is still a work in progress, and hopefully in the upcoming months you'll find further upgrades to these in…

UPDATE: 30-Jan-2014
I have added breps as an input for wrapping geometry (it also can take lines now), as in the above definition. It has been updated for some efficiencies...now you can taper a curve at…

Hi David,
I am a student of China Academy of Fine Arts, and I am preparing my graduation project. I am curious about how this model was completed. Can we exchange ideas if it is convenient? thanks a lot!
Best regards,

Hi David: I suspect that mesh-subdivision type is not the major influence on the difference in the Iso surface, created by K3DSurf and the formula you proposed using the Iso Surface component. There appears to be a rougher or muscular interpretation in your formula, unlike the overall smooth flowing surfaces in K3DSurf. I'm wondering if you
have any idea how in GH a smoother surface flow can be achieved?
p.s. I noticed a fellow member wang just came up with a great looking Gyroid.

Thank you David. The project went well. Now I would like to develop it further. For instance to work in the definition to simulate better the real paths the fibres are following when weaved around irregular cylinders and pretensed.
Best wishes
Hi David,
Some months ago you helped me with a grasshopper definition to deform lines around curves. I just had the defense of my thesis and I want to espress you again my gratitude. You are in the aknowledegements page of my book :)
Best regards,
