Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello all!

I'm trying to figure out how to get some parts of a mesh. I'm trying to achieve something not unlike the skin on Hadid's Guangzhou project, as per this. What I'm aiming for is a sort of triangular extruded frame, with the inside as just a plane.

I started off using Weaver Bird to subdivide/smooth a mesh that I'm using. From there, I extracted the edges of the triangular subdivisions, and scaled them, so I now have scaled curves inside the subdivisions.

The plan is to somehow subtract one from the other, and extrude the remains inwards to create the "frame" parts.

My problem is that although I have the subdivisions, scaled curves, and even the vectors for extrusion, I can't seem to figure out things like the intersections, and making the remainder a brep or something like that so it can be extruded?

This image shows the way things are now, and I've attached the rhino and grasshopper files too.
